Holy Family Food Pantry
Food for today......hope for tomorrow.....
building our communities' future.
December  2011 in Review:

During December we were able to provide food for 3423 people.  We served 932 families and assisted 90 new families. We were able to provide 200 families with Christmas meals this season. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus, the Chapel and to Jewel Osco in Lake Forest for their assistance in providing these meals.
We also had Santa show up to take photos with our families and we were able to roast chestnuts again.  This year we had students and their parents from St. Patrick's School in Wadsworth distribute coats and winter gear that they collected.  This was a great opportunity for families to receive free winter coats.
We were also happy to assist the Knights of Columbus identify 20 needy families that they delivered Christmas trees, stands and ornaments to.
We also provided 528 families with Christmas gifts.Over 70 children received bikes this Christmas along with their presents. This huge program was spearheaded by Linda Benge and Christmas Linda does a tremendous job of organizing the following churches and organizations:  St. Mary's, St. Patrick's, St. Francis, St. Mary the Annunciation, Union Church, U-Line  St. Joseph's, and Rolling Hills Manor. Thank you to all of the generous donors for making Christmas special for so many people.
We were so blessed to be able to provide holiday food and for the many needy families that entered the pantry. We had  over 3,700 different families this year and were happy to make the holidays special for so many of those in need.
We were able to collect, repair and distribute 147 bikes to adults this year for our BIKES program.  Thanks to all of those who donated.  Bikes are a major mode of transportation in Waukegan year round.
The Roberti Community House continues to grow and provide support to the community. We have cooking classes once a week and are working on offering expanded classes this winter.
Thank you to all who help on a daily basis and continue to pray for those in need. Thank you for all of your support this past year and remember us when the summer rolls around.  This is a particularly tough time for all food pantries Please remember all those who lack food and clothing this fall as the weather  turns colder and the needs of many Lake County residents continue to increase.

Peace
